In 2019, both a PS4 line-up trailer released by Sony Japan and a No More Heroes 3 trailer were accused of plagiarizing animations. It’s rare to see a commercial gaming product accused of reusing animations, but it has happened in the past. Over the weekend, a Twitter user accused Bleak Faith’s perk icons to be AI-generated, and Archangel Studios explained that the use of AI-generated images was “somewhat of an oversight” and that the studio would redo them. About 10% of the total game art is from there.” The marketplace was used to fill in generic art and was still edited to fit in the general needs of the art direction. Roia continued: “We're willing to rework things if there's something amiss going on in the marketplace but we've received no notification from Epic and we too are their customers. Any other question or concern should be taken up with Epic themselves.” For everyone else, however, even the most diehard of Souls fans might want to wait for more updates before trying this title."We've heard this comment before, but you can buy the animations yourself if you want as they are publicly available and have been for a long time. For those that can deal with them, Bleak Faith: Forsaken might be the maze-like adventure they've been looking for. But until that day comes, it is hard to look past the glaring issues. With enough time, this game could be incredible. The developers seem well-intentioned and have been patching the game every day since its release, but there is still a lot to be done. While the game has potential, there are currently too many issues to be able to recommend purchasing it. Score: 1/5 Stars Verdict - A promising Soulslike, but it needs more time It's certainly possible to get through the game despite the clunkiness and inconsistency of the controls, but that doesn't make it enjoyable. Control of the character can also lock up, making it impossible to attack or do anything, and the Stamina meter can be frozen while not even in combat. The first boss of the game has an area of effect attack that is completely avoided by jumping and nowhere in the game does it explain that this combination of strange inputs would cause the player to jump. I cant say Im surprised, I think its a solo developer It is nigh. Playing on a controller, you can jump using L2 + X or LT + A while on PC it's Alt. The negativity is high enough that I doubt it can be patched up or fixed. It would be ill-advised to pass over this game, though, especially for fans of the genre. One look at the gameplay for 'Bleak Faith: Forsaken,' and you might think it's just another drop in the Soulsborne genre bucket. Mainly, there are plenty of graphical and gameplay glitches that do more than blemish this title. 'Bleak Faith: Forsaken' is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There are no huge issues with the core gameplay on its own, and experimenting with different weapons is fun, but there are a lot of pressing issues with how the game feels to play. Enemies respawn after each death, but players can create their respawn point, or Homunculus, to skip having to go through the enemies and obstacles in between Homunculi. The game functions the same as other Souls titles with the gameplay loop being focused on exploration, stat raising, and finding the boss at the end of areas. There is no way to level up, so to make the right build, players have to craft Crystals to embed their equipment to increase their Stats or change their Stats to what they want. Like other similar games, Bleak Faith: Forsaken focuses on getting to and from different areas and collecting gear on the way. The game features a large world to explore and unique mechanics that make it stand out. It's rough around the edges however, the game takes on a unique approach to the Soulslike formula. With a development team of only three people, Bleak Faith: Forsaken shows a lot of promise with its visuals and gameplay.
